    Dear Evergreen Parents:

Our school and district are committed to continuous improvement, therefore every school in our district develops and implements a School Improvement Plan. To develop this plan we analyze data from a variety of sources – including student performance trends, state comparisons and staff & parent perception surveys – to identify improvement goals that are specific, data-driven and measurable.  To help our school understand our strengths and challenges in areas known to impact educational effectiveness we would appreciate your input on how we are doing.

The online link below is a multiple-choice survey. We ask that you please complete and submit the survey by March 30, 2017If you have more than one child in the Everett School District you may complete a survey for each school your children attend.  Please complete each survey so that all of your children’s schools will benefit from your feedback.

The survey questions were developed by the Center for Educational Effectiveness, a Bellevue, Washington-based educational research firm, in collaboration with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction for Washington State.  As a cost savings measure, our district has moved away from paper surveys, to electronic versions made available to parents.

We truly appreciate your time and participation.  Your feedback is very important to our ongoing school improvement efforts as we work to make our school the very best for our students.

    Thank you,

Evergreen Middle School Staff and Administration

  • bus in snow How is transportation impacted when the weather is bad or when there are unforeseen hazards on a bus route?

We know parents need early notice if the weather conditions might impact bus transportation or when the weather is severe enough that schools might be closed; therefore, transportation staff routinely monitor weather forecasts and assess road safety to enact emergency communications systems as necessary. You may want to prepare for such possibilities by reading the information on the emergency closure section of the district website. In cases, where the busses are on snow routes, you may find that information on the link below:

    After School Reminder!

As cold weather arrives and the afternoons get dark early we worry about our students getting home safely each day. Evergreen MS is a closed campus from 30 minutes after school ends until 4:30pm each day—it is only an open campus after 4:30 pm to allow for evening sports to occur. We expect every student to promptly leave campus at the end of each day, unless the student is staying for an after school program that is supervised by an adult, like Study Club or an extra-curricular activity. The students participating in after school clubs or study club may take the Activity Bus home at 3:10 pm. Students that participate in sports may take the Athletic Bus home at 4:30 pm. If your student is not involved in athletics, then they should not return to school at 4:30 to meet with friends. Our #1 priority is student safety and therefore prefer for them to be home when it is dark, cold, and school-related activities are done.
