Work Based Learning is a program designed to offer students supplementary opportunities to explore post-secondary education and career options. The program is a flexible program to provide mutliple options for individual student needs and goals. There are two portions to the program and are listed below:
Worksite Learning offers three options for credit. Students can choose to gain experience through either an internship, volunteering or employment. Hours of experience occur outside of the school day and is connected with an approved CTE class. The Worksite Learning program allows students to apply existing and learn new workplace skills in a real-world environment. Students will explore the world of work and learn options available for their future.
Career Choices focuses on identifying students' career and work goals with the objective of preparing them for the competitive job market. This course focuses on linking the student's individual capabilities to the job market. An Employment Portfolio created by the student provides evidence of their interests and qualifications necessary for obtaining a job in the competitive marketplace.
