Karen Rivers and Newbery Award Winning Author Kelly Barnhill Visiting Cedar Wood!

Karen Rivers

Karen Rivers and Kelly Barnhill is scheduled to meet with our third through fifth graders on the morning of Thursday, April 13.  Karen Rivers lives in British Columbia and writes books for kids, such as her latest book entitled, Love, Ish.  Kelly Barnhill won the 2016 Newbery Award for The Girl Who Drank the Moon (we currently have five print copies and two digital copies of this book in our library.)  Click here to check out Karen River's Website, and click here to visit Kelly Barnhill's website to learn more about these authors and their books.  Click here if you need a pre-order form.

  • Lexile to AR Conversion

    When students search for websites on Destiny Quest, they can search for websites closer to their independent reading levels. On Destiny Quest and FollettShelf, when students search for books, they can refine searches by adjusting AR levels.  This sheet shows a correlation between AR and lexile levels so students understand what lexile to adjust to when searching for websites.
